Report

Its now the second week of the Easter break and it has to be said, I am no where near where I wanted to be. Its going to be a tight squeeze to get the FYP finished at the rate I'm working at. Most of my time has been spent on the report. Hours are flying by when I only have 1 or 2 topics covered in that time. Its a pain-stakingly long process of minding my words and I really didn't budget enough time for it. I'm sure were all in the same boat with the end fast approaching. :(

2 WEEKS, AND COUNTING

So, the easter break has finally come. Its gonna be a long 2 weeks in the MM lab. We're gonna miss all the sunshine so we'll be even pastier and paler than usual(",).

I've a lot done, but a hell of a lot left to do. The forum page still has to be coded fully which is the bulk of my work. I also have to fill out all the content. The design is done. The log in and register is done. The interior scrolls are done. I think I need to make it more Multimedia orientated so I'm gonna bust a nut trying to get stuff done.

I CANT FORGET ABOUT THE REPORT EITHER THO!!!!!!!

New Log in

I've changed my design to keep the squared theme all the way through. I'm using different sized squares with varying opacities to give a distanced effect. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks and I got it working too! The register page is linked through a hyperlink under the submit button.

Internal scroll bar

With my site being mainly informative, I have loads of text to display to the user. I decided to use an internal scroll bar so the user wouldn't have to go down for miles and the background images would still all be in view. You can scroll up or down at the touch of a button.

So, I've side stepped the idea of programming my site long enough. Its time to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in. Here's my log in page. It takes in a username and a password, checks to see if its in my database, if it is, your in. If not, you have to register. Thats the idea anyway :)

Right, my last design didn't go down well at all. It'd be nice to get some praise, for anything, but I suppose negative feedback gives me the kick up the a**e I need to get back and fully focussed. I regrouped, had a long look at my webpages, and decided this look would appeal more to students. Now I gotta show it to "the client" :) to see if they approve. Fingers crossed!

Where I'm at right now

So, it’s January. Were into the home stretch, or for me, The Green Mile. December the 8th (Design Presentation) proved to be a disastrous day. My ideas you can see below were pinpointed, and shot right out of the sky. I pretty much gave up on college for a while-its hard to stay motivated after that.

But, Christmas came and went and I said I’d knuckle down. I’ve stayed with my idea of the recession, but redirected it 100% at students. I’m going to discuss tips on food (the right diet at the right price), accommodation (what to look for when renting a student place), income (how to calculate your grant and minimum wage), what career path to go down (where jobs are at on the planet in different subjects), and I’m gonna have a forum for other students to leave their own tips on how to survive.

So-that’s where I’m at right now. I got lots to do. As for programming-HA! If I were a boat trying to stay afloat-I’d be the Titanic. A big lump thats going under (“,)

Start of December-where am I?

Well, its nowthat start of december and I have my design presentation next week, the 9th. I'm gonna try incorporate all my designs that I've done so far into a powerpoint presentation. The feedback I've gotten on my work so far has been good. I dont know bout anyone else but I'm finding it hard to keep myself focussed between presentations, projects, FYP and exams. Hopefully St. Nick will bring me a bit more drive and clarity. (",)

Progress Nov 08

I finished my research report and handed up my final proposal. Now I'm looking into the design side of things. I have a few ideas about what I'm going to do. I just have to narrow it down and have a prototype in for December 08.
